WHEREAS, Collier County Domestic Anima/ Services is participating in 'Remember Me Thursday'; and,
WHEREAS, the staff and volunteer of Collier County Domestic Animals Services have agreed to
devote their time, resources and energy to this united effort to bring attention to
orphaned pets; and,
WHEREAS, Collier County Domestic Anima/ Services will ho/do public candle-fight ceremony with the
goa/ of remembering those orphaned animals who died without a loving home and shining a
light on the orphaned animals still waiting for their forever homes throughout the Collier
County area, and,
WHEREAS, Collier County Domestic Anima/ Services is working in cooperation with anima/ organizations
and rescue groups from around the world in partnership with 'Remember me Thursday"
founder He /en Woodward Anima/ Center, • and,
WHEREAS, the 'Remember Me Thursday' campaign w /// assist in not only bringing attention to the
orphaned pets in Collier County, but will therefore result in Increased adoptions of these
pets; and,
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, that the fourth Thursday of September be designated as Collier County
'Remember Me Thursday" Day, and we urge all Co// %r County Cit /zens to observe th /s
special occasion with //ghting a candle for a// those orphaned animals who died without a
loving home.

the benefit of a loving home, uniting the community to shine a light on the millions of healthy
pets awaiting adoption and encouraging families to opt to adopt thereby reducing the millions
of orphaned pets euthanized each year. To be accepted by Darcy Andrade, Kellie Carroll, Kathy
Drew, Tammy Wolny, Kyra Lynch, and Geri Lynn Waterbury from Domestic Animal Services.
