EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to appoint a member to the Consumer Advisory Board
OBJECTIVE: To appoint one member to serve the remainder of a vacant term on the
Consumer Advisory Board,said term to expire on December 1,2016.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Consumer Advisory Board (CAB) was created on May 26, 2009,
by Ordinance No. 2009-27. This 5 member board was created for the purpose of hearing any
appeals from adverse administrative decisions regarding a public vehicle license permit, and to
hear all public consumer issues. The ordinance provides that no member of the CAB shall be a
current motor vehicle for hire owner or operator, nor shall they be a family member of the same
household of a current motor vehicle for hire owner or operator. Adverse decisions of the CAB
may be appealed,within thirty (30)days,to the Board of County Commissioners. The CAB is a
quasi-judicial board. Terms are 4 years. A list of the current membership is included in the
backup.
There are currently three vacancies on the CAB. The vacancies were advertised and an
application was received from the following interested citizen:

GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners appoints Mr. Jeffrey
Williams,and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the appointment.
