EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve a budget amendment to recognize $3,548.49 in carryforward for
additional revenue earned for the 2014 Summer Food Program.
OBJECTIVE: To completely and accurately budget for the FY2014 Summer Food Program.
CONSIDERATIONS: On March 11, 2014 the Board approved the 2014 Summer Food Service
Program (Agenda item 16D1). The program has consistently served a core group of school sites;
however, this year after the Board approved the Agreement with the School Board, the YMCA
requested Summer Food Service. On May 13, 2014, the Board approved an amendment to add
the YMCA site to the 2014 program (Agenda item 16D21).
Staff prepared an estimated budget at the time the YMCA site was added, but its addition
resulted in a greater increase of both meals consumed and reimbursed than anticipated.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is required to recognize additional FY2014 grant
revenue in the amount of$3,548.49 in Public Service Grant Fund (709), Project 33323.

GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated
with this request.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been approved as to form and legality and
requires majority vote for approval. - CMG
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners recognizes additional
revenue for the 2014 Summer Food Program and to authorize the necessary budget amendment
for grant revenue in the amount of$3,548.49.
