EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation recognizing Linda Swisher, Administrative Secretary, Ochopee Fire District as
the Employee of the Month for November 2014.
OBJECTIVE: The purpose of the Employee of the Month program is to recognize the efforts
and accomplishments of employees who have made significant contributions to the organization
and to our community.
CONSIDERATIONS: Linda Swisher, Administrative Secretary, Administrative Services Division
has been nominated as the Employee of the Month for November 2014. She has been an
employee of the County for more than 28 years.
Linda's primary duties include daily operations of the Ochopee Fire Control office, handling all the
clerical and secretarial responsibilities.
Recently Linda has assumed many of the Administrative Assistant duties for the Isle of Capri
Station after their employee took a position in a different department. Linda has assumed all of
the payroll and purchasing responsibilities as well as the day to day operations. She has also
taken on all of the operations and grant duties of the new station 63 which in itself is a
monumental task!
Linda has accumulated a wealth of historical knowledge and has a comprehensive knowledge of
many of the job functions well above her required responsibilities and she is a stellar example to
all her peers. Her dedication to all of the fire stations and employees is a perfect example of why
she is so deserving of this award.
FISCAL IMPACT: The selected "Employee of the Month" receives a $150.00 cash award.
Funds are available in the employee's Budget Cost Center.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with
this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves the recognition of
Linda Swisher as "Employee of the Month" for November 2014.
