WHEREAS, this spring more than 100 girls participated on seven teams in the 2014 Naples Girls Softball Little League
Program; and
WHEREAS, these young girls learn both basic and advanced softball skills and most important they learn appreciation for
teammates through team building activities as well as a healthy competitive spirit; and
WHEREAS, thirteen Collier County players, ages 11 and 12, were chosen by their coaches and managers to form the
Queens All Star team to represent Collier County in the All Star Tournaments administered by the National
Little League Headquarters Tournament Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Queens All Star Little League players who played with dedication are Julia Alessi, Lydia E. Cartwright,
Victoria M. Choinski, Jazlyn Curry, Olivia Eckelman, Kaylea Evans, Brooke Hackim, Delaney Heidel, Sara
Leon, Ashlee Lykins, Macie E. MacDonald, Bianca Palacios, and Emily Wright; and
WHEREAS, the Queens All Star team is the Florida District 27 Champion and will represent Collier County in the Florida
Section 6 Tournament in San Carlos on July 12 and 13; and,
WHEREAS, the parents of these players are commended for supporting the Queens All Star Team by driving the players to
practices and being wonderful, positive cheerleaders for the team helping to build the girls' self esteem,
confidence and drive to play as a team.
7W THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, that Jr ly 12, 2014 be designated as
Queens A# Star Little League Day
