EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to award Invitation to Bid #13-6174 for Lake Banks Geotextile Tube
Installations to Anchor Marine Environmental Services, Inc. as the lowest, qualified,
responsive bidder to shore up and restore lake banks within the Pelican Bay Water
Management System.
OBJECTIVE: To shore up and restore lake banks within the Pelican Bay Water Management
System with geotextile woven tubes that are filled with dredged sand and backfilled between the
installation of the tube and the shore line.
CONSIDERATIONS: Invitation to Bid #13-6174 was posted on January 27, 2014 to solicit
vendors for Lake Banks Geotextile Tube Installations. Geotextile tubes are woven and backfilled
with dredged sand and necessary for restoration of lake banks within the Pelican Bay water
management system. There were 2,011 notices with 83 packages downloaded and four (4) bids
received and opened on February 26, 2014. Bids have been evaluated, and Staff recommends
award of Bid #13-6174 to Anchor Marine Environmental Services, Inc. as the lowest, qualified,
responsive bidder. A Purchase Order will be issued for the lake bank restoration services.
FISCAL IMPACT: Funds are available in the Pelican Bay Services Division Capital Project
Fund, in the amount of$I 10,000.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated
with this Executive Summary.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been approved as to form and legality and
requires a majority vote for approval. CMG
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners award Invitation to Bid
#13-6174 for Lake Banks Geotextile Tube Installations to Anchor Marine Environmental
Services, Inc. as the lowest, qualified, responsive bidder.
