EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to authorize a budget amendment of$1,200,000 to move funds from Project No.
73950, "NCWRF Bridge the Gap Project," to Project No. 70051, "Collections Power Systems
Technical Support."
OBJECTIVE: Fund the purchase of portable emergency generators in anticipation of the upcoming
hurricane season to remain in compliance and meet customer demand.
CONSIDERATIONS: The proposed scope of work for Project 70051 "Collections Power Systems
Technical Support" is consistent with the 2010 Water Capital Improvement Project(C1P) Update, page 3
of 4, line 109, as identified in the 2011 User Fee Rate Study.
The purchase of additional emergency generators is part of the Wastewater Department's ongoing
Capacity, Management, Operation, and Maintenance (CMOM) program to minimize the potential for
sewer system overflows by maintaining compliance with local, state and federal regulations. Project
70051 "Collections Power Systems Technical Support," does not have sufficient funds for this purchase.
All users of the wastewater system will benefit under the CMOM program. Procurement activities for
each sub-project will occur separately in accordance with the Purchasing Ordinance.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment to obtain the required funds is being requested. The source of
these funds is the Wastewater User Fee Fund (414).
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality, and requires majority vote
for Board approval.—SRT
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: This project meets current Growth Management Plan
standards to ensure the adequacy and availability of viable public facilities.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners, Ex-officio the Governing Board of
the Collier County Water-Sewer District, approve a budget amendment of$1,200,000 to move funds from
Project No. 73950, "NCWRF Bridge the Gap Project," to Project No. 70051, "Collections Power Systems
Technical Support."
