EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to appoint two members to the Black Affairs Advisory Board.
OBJECTIVE: To appoint two members to the Black Affairs Advisory Board.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Black Affairs Advisory Board has three vacancies with terms
expiring on June 25, 2014, June 25, 2015, and June 25, 2017. This nine member committee
identifies and evaluates problems unique to the Black Community, reviews and recommends
ways to ensure open communication between the minorities and Collier County Government and
provides periodic reports to the Board of County Commissioners. Terms are four years. A list of
the current membership is included in the backup.
The vacancies were advertised and applications were received from the following interested
citizens:

GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee
Recommendation, and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the
appointments.
