PROCLAMA TION
WHEREAS, the Palmetto Ridge High School bond has been rated with straight
superior ratings in the 'Marching Music Performance Assessment"
every year under the leadership of Director Harry 'Skip "Pardee;
and
WHEREAS, the PRHS Jazz Ensemble has been rated /n a similar fashion at
the district and the State level; and
WHEREAS, the PRHS Wind Ensemble was rated SUPERIOR at the State
Concert Festival for the first time in school history in 2013;
and,
WHEREAS, both the PRHS Wind Ensemble and the PRHS Tazz Ensemble will
participate in the Florida Bandmaster's Association concert, the
highest level performance assessment in our Great State of
Florida; and
WHEREAS, the PRHS bond has participated in parades such as the NCAA
Dallas Cotton Bowl, New Orleans Irish Channe /side Parade,
Disney Magic Music Days and invited by numerous nationwide
festivals and tours; and
WHEREAS, the PRHS bond marched in Boston's annual St. Patrick's Day
Parade March 16, 2014, proudly representing Collier County
under the silver, green and black banner of the Bears; and
WHEREAS, the band's command performance in Boston elicited cheers among
parade goers along every step of the 3.7 -mile route and placed
Collier County's recognition of our nation's Irish heritage into the
minds of millions of people.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of
Collier County Florida, that Marcn, 2014 be designated
PALMETTO RID6E HI6H SCHOOL MARCHING BAND MONTH
DONE AND ORDERED THIS 8th Day of April, 2014.
