EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve the transfer of funds from the "GAC Trust Fund" and
associated Budget Amendment to reimburse the Collier County Parks and Recreation
Department for the purchase of exercise equipment for the Louise Hasse Community
Center in an amount not to exceed $62,000.
OBJECTIVE: To purchase exercise and related recreational equipment for the Louise Hasse
Community Center.
CONSIDERATIONS: At the November 25, 2013 regular meeting of the Golden Gate Estates
Land Trust Committee (Committee), the Parks and Recreation Department made a presentation
to the Committee requesting funding for exercise and related recreational equipment for the
Louise Hasse Community Center at the Max Hasse Community Park. The Committee voted
unanimously (3-0) to approve the funding request for an amount not to exceed $62,000. With
this vote, the Committee recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approves the
funding request made by the Parks and Recreation Department.
Pursuant to the 1983 Agreement, a Letter of No Objection has been obtained from Avatar
Properties, Inc. for the funding request.
The purchase of the equipment shall be in accordance with all applicable bidding requirements
set forth in Chapter 287, Florida Statutes, and shall be conducted in the manner consistent with
the Board of County Commissioners' purchasing policy. The Parks Department shall provide the
Finance Department with all invoices related to this purchase and the reimbursement for the
purchase shall be made from funds derived from the GAC Trust Fund Reserves. The Parks
Department shall provide Real Property Management with a copy of their transmittal memo to
the Finance Department with copies of all invoices for the equipment purchased.
FISCAL IMPACT: A total allocation of an amount not to exceed $62,000 shall be withdrawn
from the GAC Land Trust Fund 605 Reserves and deposited into the appropriate GAC Land
Trust Fund 605 operating account.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no impact to the Collier County Growth
Management Plan.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been approved for legality and requires a majority
vote for Board approval. - JAB
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves the funding request
and authorizes the Budget Amendment for an amount not to exceed $62,000 for exercise and
recreational equipment for the Parks and Recreation Department.
