,,,,WHEREAS, the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, founded in 1929, has served its
members and the community from their initial location at the "Ditch Bank" to its
current location, established in 1953; and,
WHEREAS, the church has been a pillar of strength in the community, offering religious
doctrine, finamial assistance and working with youth, seniors and other churches
throughout the community while seeking enrichment opportunities and developing
outreach p%groms for residents and visitors; and,
WHEREAS, the success of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church is dependent upon the
moral and financial support of its members as well as the A dmisers held
throughout the year, and,
WHEREAS, as a volunteer driven church, these individuals are essential to its success,
donating time and money to its community endeavors such as assisting with
financial difficulties and working with Collier Harvest, Collier 211 and the
Homeless Coalition; and,
WHEREAS, the church recognises the role of children within the community and provides
outreach Mmugh Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, Youth Ministry, Back to
School Priograms and a computer lab; and,
WHEREAS, the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church is a strong community partner in Collier
County and is honored for its 85 years of keeping the faith and providing
assistance. throughout the county.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, that February 13, 2014 be designated as
MACEDONIA MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH DAY
DONE AND ORDERED THIS Ze Day of January, 2014.
