EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to accept the donation of labor and materials from the Collier Business Industry Association (CBIA) members to improve the Golden Gate Senior Center, also known as the Old Golden Gate Library. OBJECTIVE: To enhance the Golden Gate Senior Center by improving and beautifying the exterior area surrounding the building. CONSIDERATIONS: On May 19, 2015, Kathy Curatolo, Executive Vice President of the CBIA contacted County Staff regarding the donation of labor and materials intended for enhancement of the current Golden Gate Senior Center, also known as the Old Golden Gate Library. The CBIA is a not - for - profit professional association of dedicated industry professionals who are inspired to make a difference in the community through advocacy, education, networking and philanthropy. The CBIA hosts two "service projects" each year and has chosen the Golden Gate Senior Center as a "service project." The following items will be donated by the CBIA to improve the visitors' experience in the Garden Courtyard area: Brick Pavers: Scope — remove and dispose of existing uneven pavers; supply /install new lime rock base; supply and install new brick pavers. Estimated value of labor and materials: $3.500 Gutters/Downspouts: Scope - remove existing deteriorating gutters; supply and install new gutters /downspouts in Garden Courtyard [50 LF gutters, (2) 5 "x4" downspouts @ 8' each]. Front Entrance [40 LF gutters, (2) 5 "x4" downspouts @ 8' each]. Estimated value of labor and materials: $550 Fence: Scope - supply and install new mechanical aluminum powder coated fence; (2) 36" self - closing and self - latching gates Garden Courtyard (105 LF). Estimated value of labor and materials: $6,825 Landscape Planting Area (exterior side of fence): Scope - Sufficient planting material to place along 90 LF of fence material (combination of bushes /shrubs /mulch). Estimated value of labor and materials: $1,500 Permit Application Fee: Scope - The fence permit is the only portion of the work that needs to be submitted for approval /inspection. The fence company will submit the application. Estimated cost: $400 Dumpster rental fee: Scope — To provide temporary dumpster for disposed items. Estimated cost: $350 All labor and products will be supplied by the CBIA members including: Shane Klepko (CBIA), Harwick Homes (CBIA), Kathy Curatolo (CBIA), Kevin Deardorff (Wiebel, Hennells & Carufe, PLLC), Jessica Schneider (Robb & Stucky), and Keith Stewart (PulteGroup). All items donated will remain on premises throughout the item's useful life. Before work begins, each contractor Packet Page -1784- 9/8/2015 16.E.6. will submit a standard vendor package to include current business license, workers' compensation certificate and general liability insurance to the County. The Golden Gate Senior Center is. currently leased and operated by Collier Resources Inc., a not - for -profit organization. FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact to the County. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no impact on the Collier County Growth Management Plan. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been approved as to form and legality and requires majority vote for approval. - CMG RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Collier County Commissioners accepts the donations listed from the members of the Collier Business Industry Association in the estimated amount of $13,125 for the Golden Gate Senior Center.
