EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to authorize a budget amendment in the amount of $160,115.45 transferring funds from Parks and Recreation Boater Improvement Reserves to specific boat ramp improvement projects, all within Parks and Recreation Capital Fund 306. OBJECTIVE: To complete various capital projects for boat park facilities. CONSIDERATIONS: The Facilities Management Division conducts routine inspections of parks facilities. As part of this process, Facilities recently identified deficiencies with the boat ramps at Bayview, Caxambas, Collier Boulevard (951), and Goodland Boat Park. The problems identified at each of the site as summarized as follows: Location Ramp Issues Bayview Park Wash -out of concrete and fill between segments Caxambas Park Deterioration of concrete retaining structures Collier Blvd. (95 1) Boat Ramp Ramp end curb issues and potential loss of subgrade support Goodland Boat Ramp Wash -out of concrete and fill between segments These issues are a safety concern and require immediate repairs in excess of the funding amounts currently appropriated. Facilities Management staff has obtained estimates for the work at each location and will collaborate with the Purchasing Division to procure the necessary work. FISCAL IMPACT: The estimated cost of all repairs is $229,518.35. A total of $69,402.90 is available in three projects for FYI 5. Staff has prepared a budget amendment allocating $160,115.45 from Boater Improvement Reserves among the projects as necessary to fully fund the repairs. This action will result in no impact to the General Fund. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this item. LEGAL CONSIDERATION: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, raises no legal issues, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners authorizes a budget amendment in the amount of $160,115.45 transferring funds from Boater Improvement Reserves to specific boat ramp improvement projects, within Parks and Recreation Capital Fund 306, to complete repairs at various boat park facilities.
