EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to grant final approval of the public roadway and drainage improvements for the
final plats of Riverwood East, Plat Book 13, Page 13, Riverwood East Unit No. 2, Plat Book 13 Page
112, Riverwood East Unit No. 3, Plat Book 14, Page 90, Riverwood Unit Two, Plat Book 10, Page
90, and acceptance of the maintenance responsibility for these improvements within the public
rights -of -way.
OBJECTIVE: To have the Board of County Commissioners (Board) grant final approval of
the improvements associated with the Riverwood and Riverwood East plats and accept
maintenance responsibility for these improvements.
CONSIDERATIONS:
1) Between January 1972 and December 1986, the Board approved these plats for recording.
2) The streets and roads on each of these plats were dedicated to the public and will be
maintained by Collier County upon approval of the attached Resolutions.
3) The required improvements have been constructed in accordance with the
Land Development Code. The improvements within these plats have received
preliminary acceptance, but no final acceptance appears to have occurred. The
Transportation Services Division has inspected the improvements and is recommending
final acceptance of the improvements.
4) A resolution for final acceptance of each Phase of the improvements has been prepared
and approved by the County Attorney's Office. The resolution is a requirement of
Section 10.02.05 C.3 of the Land Development Code. Copies of the documents are
attached.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no initial fiscal impact associated with this recommendation. Open
swale drainage requires periodic inspections and system cleaning on a seven to twelve year basis
at an estimated cost of $5.000.00 per cycle. New residential roadway construction or resurfaced
roadway has a maintenance curve of approximately 15 to 20 years before any incremental costs
are required for repairs or replacement.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated
with this Executive Summary.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been approved as to form and legality, and
requires a majority vote for Board approval. - SAS
RECOMMENDATION: Recommendation that the Board grant final acceptance of the
roadway and drainage improvements in Riverwood East, Riverwood East Unit No. 2, Riverwood
East Unit No. 3, Riverwood Unit Two, and authorize;
1. The Chairman to execute the attached resolutions authorizing final acceptance and the
County maintenance responsibility of the improvements.

COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY. FLORIDA, that final acceptance is hereby

acceptance of said facilities.

COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA. that final acceptance is hereby

maintenance security,.

Collier County. The drainage system and lakes outside of the road rights of way will be privately
maintained by the River-,vood Homeowner's Association.
