EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to reappoint a member to the Radio Road Beautification Advisory Committee
OBJECTIVE: To reappoint a member to the Radio Road Beautification Advisory Committee to a four -
year term expiring on March 3, 2022.
CONSIDERATIONS: This five member committee was created on October 21, 1997 by Ordinance No.
97-52 to aid and assist the Board of County Commissioners in carrying out the purposes of providing
curbing, watering facilities, plantings and maintenance of the median areas as set forth in Ordinance No.
96-84. The committee shall recommend work programs and priorities to the County Manager or his
designee. Members shall be permanent residents within the MSTU. Terms are four years. A list of the
current membership is included in the backup.
Ms. Helen Carella’s term will expire on March 3, 2018, and there is one additional vacancy on this
committee. The vacancies were advertised and the following applications were received:

ATTENDANCE: Ms. Carella has had one excused absence in the past two years. Attendance records are
included in the backup.
COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: That Ms. Carella be reappointed to her seat on the committee,
to a new four-year term which shall expire on March 3, 2022. A recommendation memo is included in the
backup. The remaining vacancy will continue to be advertised.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee
Recommendation, and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the reappointment.
