EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to appoint an alternate member to the Collier County Code Enforcement Board.
OBJECTIVE: To appoint an alternate member to the Collier County Code Enforcement Board, to a
three year term expiring on February 14, 2021.
CONSIDERATIONS: This seven-member board, plus two alternates, was established pursuant to
Chapter 162 of the Florida Statutes by Ordinance No. 07-44, as amended, and is composed of individuals
representing the occupations of architect, business owner, engineer, general contractor, subcontractor and
realtor, and who are considered for appointment based on their experience or interest in the areas of the
codes and ordinances to be enforced. Members are required to file a Form 1 Statement of Financial
Interest each year with the Supervisor of Elections. Terms are 3 years. This is a quasi -judicial board. A
list of the current membership is included in the backup.
There is one vacant alternate seat on this board. The vacancy was advertised and applications were
received from the following:

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: As a quasi-judicial board no committee recommendation is required.
Staff recommends that Mr. White be appointed as an alternate member on the Code Enforcement Board,
to a three-year term expiring on February 14, 2021. A recommendation memo is included in the backup.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Staff Recommendation,
and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the appointment.
