WHEREAS, The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Miami has strong ly and
effectively promoted bilateral economic and cultumi relations since the
establishment of the Office in Miami in 1988 and the consequent
establishment of the sister -state relations between the Province of Taiwan
and the State of Florida in 1992; and,
WHEREAS, Taiwan has established Mmlf economically as the wor /ds %Si /icon Island, "
created exceptional research parks such as Hsinchu Science and Industrial
Park and built prestigious and highly successful high tech incubators,
including the Industrial Tech Research Instifute (Trier); ands
WHEREAS, Taiwan is home to /eadaV universities in science, engineering and
technology, and pinned and developed the world's leading fables
semiconductwr industry; and,
WHEREAS, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office has developed wonderful roe /ahoas
and conmechmw with Southwest Florida and Collier County on past visits to
our region; acrd,
WHEREAS, Collier County has worked to develop a world-claw environment and business
n culture that supports start -up and innovation companies from all over the
world; and,
WHEREAS, Colter County offers a superior lifestyle and standard of living for its
companies, residents, visitors and guests; and
WHEREAS, Collier County has consistently welcomed with great pleasure Taiwanese
companies, businesses and entrepreneurs seeking to develop business
opportunit/es in our region.
NOW 'THEREFORE, be it proclaimed that Collier County looks forward to hosting
Taiwanese companies and facilitating strategic linkages between our coaWmes and
organizations that enable them to be successful in growing their business opportunities
across the world.
