The new Urban Interface Protective Clothing provides maximum protection for fire personnel. CONSIDERATIONS: Ochopee Fire Control District has submitted and received this type of grant from the Florida Forest Service for the past 38 years. The grant has been used to purchase equipment for the purpose of improving firefighter safety and firefighting capabilities. This 50150 grant is necessary in order to fulfill the national requirement which is outside of the Ochopee Fire Control District's budgetary perimeters. This grant purchase will enhance the protection of fire personnel and quality of service in the community. FISCAL IMPACT: The total cost of the Urban Interface Protective Clothing is $14,800, split evenly between the Florida Forest Service and Ochopee Fire Control District. If awarded, the District's cost share of 50% in the amount of $7,400 will be provided from Ochopee Fire Control District Fund 146. /, GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management impact associated with this Executive Summary. 11-\ LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved for form and legality and requires a majority vote for Board approval. -JAB RECOMMENDATION: That the Board approves the submittal of the Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant Application for the purchase of Urban Interface Protective Clothing.
