EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve a Resolution superseding Resolution No. 2014-90, amending and
expanding the Collier County Museums Fee Policy; approve a Standard Museums Rental
Agreement, and grant the County Manager or designee authority to execute rental agreements for
Museum facilities.
OBJECTIVE: To offset operating expenses for the County Museums through earned revenue.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Museum Division serves the County, its citizens, and visitors as a cultural
institution and as a repository of significant historical and archaeological materials which are donated,
loaned, or purchased for permanent public display, research, and education. In addition to this baseline of
services, the Division offers several value-added programs and services appropriate for service charges.
These include rights to use or reproduce materials from the archives, guided adult group tours, and use of
museum facilities for private purposes. Staff is proposing an update to Resolution 2014 -90 to update and
expand fees for these services.
On October 24, 2017, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the Second Amendment to
Agreement No. 14-6277, “Facility Event Coordinator,” honoring pre-booked events and removing
renewal options, effectively ending the agreement with CaterMasters, Inc. to administer the Museums
rental program (Agenda Item# 16D7). Staff has added rental fees to the proposed fee policy and has
developed a Standard Museums Rental Agreement for a self-administered rental program. Staff requests
that the Board approve the Standard Agreement and grant the County Manager or designee the authority
to administer rental agreements for Museum facilities.
FISCAL IMPACT: Museum Division earned revenue was $11,363.57 in FY16 and $12,846.21 in FY17.
The FY18 budget includes $20,500 in earned revenue. Revenue projections were increased based on the
plans to self-administer the rental program and the updating of fees as proposed.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management impact associated with this
Item.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality and requires a majority
vote for approval. -CMG

expanding the Collier County Museums Fee Policy; approve a Standard Museums Rental Agreement, and
grant the County Manager or designee ministerial authority to administer rental contracts for Museum
facilities.
