Agenda 07/07/2015 Item #16A 17/7/2015 16.A.1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to adopt a Resolution extending the Collier County Architectural and Site Design Standards Ad Hoc Committee for 12 months. OBJECTIVE: To adopt a resolution extending the Architectural and Site Design Standards Ad Hoc Committee for a period of 12 months. CONSIDERATIONS: The Board of County Commissioners (Board) established the Collier County Architectural and Site Design Standards Ad Hoc Committee (Committee) on September 10, 2013 to review the architectural standards. The Committee was subsequently extended for 12 months on June 26, 2014 through Resolution 2014 -143. The current participating members are: James Boughton, AIA Rocco Costa, AIA Kathy Curatolo, CBIA Dalas Disney, AIA Bradley Schiffer, AIA Dominick Amico, PE The Committee is scheduled to sunset on September 10, 2015, however, the members request the Board to extend the committee an additional 12 months. The committee is in the final stages of its review and the extension will allow for the Land Development Code (LDC) amendments to be finalized and approved through the public vetting process. The County's Code of Laws and Ordinances requires that ad hoc or task force committees for specific projects be appointed by resolution. The attached resolution would fonnalize the will of the Board to extend the Architectural and Site Design Standards ad hoc for a period of 12 months. Should other citizens request to participate; those applications will be brought to the Board. FISCAL IMPACT: Additional time and resources will be provided by county staff to facilitate additional meetings of the Ad Hoc Committee. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There are no anticipated Growth Management Plan impacts associated with the proposed resolution. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, is approved as to form and legality, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the proposed Resolution extending the established Collier County Architectural and Site Design Standards Ad Hoc Committee for 12 months.
