EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve a Budget Amendment to recognize and appropriate revenue
funds in an amount up to $8,200 for repairs to Rescue Boat 80.
OBJECTIVE: To obtain approval of a budget amendment to appropriate funds for the purpose
of repairing Rescue Boat 80 enabling the continuation of water rescue in the Lsles of Capri Fire
District.
CONSIDERATION: Due to the massive repairs necessary to keep Isles of Capri Rescue Boat
90 in service, the decision was made to sell the vessel at auction. For the purpose of maintaining
the same level of service, Isles of Capri Fire District has been using EMS Rescue Boat 80 which
now is now in need of repairs totaling $11,700. The cost of the repairs will be shared between
Isles of Capri Fire District and EMS. Isles of Capri Fire District will contribute up to $8200.00
(approximate proceeds from sale of Boat 90) and EMS $3500.00 toward the repairs covering the
overall expense of $11,700.
The repairs to Rescue Boat 80 are necessary in order to continue Fire/Rescue protection on the
waterways of the Isles of Capri Fire District.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is necessary to recognize and appropriate revenue
funds in the amount of $8,200 for repairs to Rescue Boat 80. These funds will be placed in the
Isles of Capri Fire District Fund 144.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated
with this Executive Summary.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, is
approved as to form and legality, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves a Budget
Amendment to recognize and appropriate revenue funds for repairs to Rescue Boat 80.
