EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize Marisa Cleveland, Operations Analyst, Growth Management
Department as the Employee of the Month for May 2015.
OBJECTIVE: The purpose of the Employee of the Month program is to recognize the efforts
and accomplishments of employees who have made significant contributions to the organization
and to our community.
CONSIDERATIONS: Marisa Cleveland, Operations Analyst, has been nominated as the
"Employee of the Month" for May 2015. Marisa, an employee of the County for 4 years, works
for the Growth Management Department.
Marisa exhibits exceptional leadership qualities; she recently took responsibility for the redesign
and content updates of the GMD customer interfacing website. She also redesigned the landing
page for the Building Department to make it easier for the public to find important information
using a variety of devices including mobile usage. Marisa is always available to assist anyone,
anywhere, anytime, even to the point of participating with the CityView program testing at
midnight! In February Marisa received the 2015 Gulfshore Business and D'Latinos magazines
Arts and Culture FACE Award celebrating diversity in Southwest Florida; and when not at work
she can often be found volunteering for one of many causes she supports including the
Golisano Children's Museum, Naples Pathways Coalition, Naples Zoo, and Susan G Komen to
name just a few.
Marisa is dependable, determined, and dedicated to her department, her co- workers and her
community and completely deserving of the Employee of the Month Award.
FISCAL IMPACT: The selected "Employee of the Month" receives a $150.00 cash award.
Funds are available in the employee's Budget Cost Center.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with
this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves the recognition of
Marisa Cleveland as "Employee of the Month" for May 2015.
