EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize and accept revenue for Collier Area Transit bus purchase in the
amount of$230,690.01 and to approve all necessary budget amendments.
OBJECTIVE: To recognize and accept revenue in the amount of$230,690.01 for Collier Area Transit
bus purchase and to approve all necessary budget amendments.
CONSIDERATION: The Transportation Planning Department of Collier County worked with the
developer of the Mercato Planned Unit Development and collected proportionate-share funds for
improvements which were above and beyond impact fees. The funds and improvements were prioritized
to facilitate non-site-related improvements which included intersection improvements to US 41 and
Vanderbilt Beach Road, traffic signal enhancements, and funds toward Collier Area Transit (CAT) bus
purchase and maintenance. The total amount of funding that is allocated to CAT bus purchase and
maintenance is $230,690.01.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is needed to recognize $230,690.01 in contribution revenue
and appropriate same within Collier Area Transit Fund 426, Project 60133.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality, and requires majority
vote for Board approval.—SRT
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: Consistent with the Transportation Elements in Objectives 10
and 12 of the Growth Management Plan.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners recognizes and accepts revenue in
the amount of $230,690.01 for Collier Area Transit bus purchase and approves all necessary budget
amendments.
