Recommendation to appoint one member to the Ochopee Fire Control District Advisory
Committee.
OBJECTIVE: To appoint a member to the Ochopee Fire Control District Advisory Committee
to fulfill a vacant term expiring on December 31,2016.
CONSIDERATIONS: This 5 member committee was created by Ord. No. 89-98 to advise the
Board of County Commissioners on the operations and budget of the Ochopee Fire Control
District. Members must reside within the boundaries of the Ochopee Area Fire Control Special
Taxing District. Terms are 2 years. A list of the current membership is included in the backup.
There is one vacant seat on this committee. The vacancy was advertised and applications were
received from the following:

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: At its meeting on May 11, 2015, the committee
approved the application of Mr. Craig to fill the currently vacant seat which expires on
December 31,2016. A recommendation memo is attached.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee
Recommendation, and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the
appointment.
