AHEREAS, Stan Appelbaum, through founding the Foster Care Council and Friends of Foster Children
has helped countless foster families with monetary support and after school tutoring and
enrichment for children; and,
WHEREAS, Stan Appelbaum has been an outspoken advocate for individuals with mental health issues;
and,
WHEREAS, Stan Appelbaum serves on Florida's Gulf Coast University's Human Subjects Institutional
Review Board of Florida, the Alliance Collier County, the Children's Network and is a Founding
Director of the Foster Care Council of Southwest Florida; and
WHEREAS, Stan Appelbaum has continued to be a tireless advocate, lobbyist and voice for abused
and abandoned children in Southwest Florida; and,
WHEREAS, Stan Appelbaum was named 2015 Collier Citizen of the Year by the Naples Daily News; and,
WHEREAS, Mere are hundreds of children in the Collier County foster care system at any given time and
they have a true friend in Stan Appelbaum and his legacy of advocating ardently on their
behalf.
�W THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, that May 27, 2015 be designated as
Stan Appe/baum Day
