EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve a transportation coordination agreement with Good Wheels, Inc.
OBJECTIVE: To assist in transportation services for those individuals receiving service from
Good Wheels, Inc.
CONSIDERATIONS: Collier County is the Community Transportation Coordinator (CTC)
responsible for coordinating transportation services within the County. Good Wheels, Inc.
(“Good Wheels”) has requested that Collier County, as the CTC, enter into a Coordination
Agreement to support their use of Federal Transit Administration Section 5310 grant funds. The
grant funds awarded to Good Wheels are to be utilized to purchase a vehicle that will transport
individuals who attend various programs. The agreement formalizes the information required by
Good Wheels on an annual basis. Information to be provided includes the annual operating
report that the CTC is required to submit to the Commission for the Transportation
Disadvantaged, and Federal Transit Administration required drug and alcohol testing
verification.
FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact is associated with this action.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS : This item is approved as to form and legality, and requires
majority vote for Board approval.—SRT
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: Transit capital and operations supports goals and
objectives of the Transportation Element of the Growth Management Plan.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves the execution of
the attached Transportation Coordination Agreement with Good Wheels, Inc. and authorizes its
Chairman to sign the Agreement following final County Attorney review.
