EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to appoint two members to the Conservation Collier Land Acquisition
Advisory Committee.
OBJECTIVE: To appoint one member and reappoint one member to serve three year terms
expiring on February 11, 2018.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Land Acquisition Advisory Committee is comprised of 9 members
during active acquisition phases, and 7 members when active acquisition phases are not in place.
This committee's primary responsibility is to recommend to the BCC an Active Properties
Acquisition List with qualified purchase recommendations of environmentally sensitive lands
consistent with the goals of the Conservation Collier Land Acquisition Program. Membership of
the committee shall comprise broad and balanced representation including environmental and
conservation interests, agricultural and business interests, educational interests, and general civic
and citizen interests within the County. Members shall have expertise, knowledge or interest in
ecology, conservation of natural resources, real estate or land acquisition, land appraisal, land
management, eco-tourism or environmental education. Terms are three years. A list of the
current membership is included in the backup.
There are currently three vacancies on this committee. The vacancies were advertised and
applications were received from the following interested citizens:

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: At its meeting on April 6, 2015, the committee
unanimously recommended that Mr. Dewrell be reappointed, and that Ms. Sherry be appointed,
to 3-year terms on the committee. A recommendation memo is included in the backup.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee
Recommendation, and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the
appointments.

Today, on 4/6/15,the Conservation Collier Land Acquisition Advisory Committee(CCLAAC)
met in a public meeting and reviewed two applications received to fill three current vacancies on
the Conservation Collier Land Acquisition Advisory Committee. There was a quorum of 4
members present, and the vote was unanimous to recommend both candidates listed below for
appointment:
1. Patricia Sherry(Initial Appointment)—to be appointed in the `General civic and citizen
interests'* category
2. Tracey Dewrell (Re-appointment)-to be appointed in the 'agricultural and business
Interests'* category
a. Mr. Dewrell was initially appointed on 9/13/11 and served through 2/11/15
