EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve a budget amendment transferring $200,000 from Pelican
Bay Services Division (PBSD) MSTBU Fund 109 Reserves to the PBSD Beautification
Cost Center for additional tree trimming services.
OBJECTIVE: To fund the additional cost of tree trimming activities necessary to clear
all pathway and line of sight obstructions within Pelican Bay. in the current fiscal year.
Budget for FY 2015 was $92,000. .
CONSIDERATIONS: At their January 7, 2015 regular meeting, the Pelican Bay
Services Division Board authorized a major tree trimming project to clean up line of
sight issues and keep street lights from being obstructed within the community.
Additional funds in the estimated amount of $200,000 for contractor services and
temporary labor are needed to complete this project. The PBSD board was apprised
that a budget amendment would be done for the funding of this work.
FISCAL IMPACT: Current capital reserves in PBSD Fund 109 total approximately
$537,000. The proposed action would transfer $200,000 from these reserves to the
operating fund to execute the project. Fund 109 receives its revenue from assessments
levied upon property owners within the Pelican Bay MSTBU.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact
associated with this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves a budget
amendment transferring $200,000 from the PBSD MSTBU Fund 109 Reserves to the
Beautification operating in PBSD Fund 109.
