EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to authorize execution of the grant award for the Collier County Sheriff's Office
FY2014-2015 InVEST grant award in the amount of $105,035 and appropriate a budget
amendment.
OBJECTIVE: To obtain grant funds for the Collier County Sheriff's Office Intimate Violence
Enhanced Service Team(InVEST).
CONSIDERATION: On July, 2014 the Collier County Sheriffs Office received the FY2014-2015 grant
funds for the Intimate Violence Enhanced Service Team (InVEST) in the amount of$105,035. The grant
requires a 25% match. On September 18, 2014, the Board approved the Collier County Sheriffs Office
Budget, including using funding from Fund 602 (Confiscated Trust Fund) as match for some grants
awards, including the InVEST grant.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is needed in the amount of $25,000 to be able to use
Confiscated Trust Funds as the match for the InVEST grant,Project 33411.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT: None.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, is approved as to
form and legality, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners (1) authorize execution of the grant
award for the Collier County Sheriffs Office FY2014-2015 InVEST grant (2) approves the necessary
budget amendments.
