EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to appoint a member to the Historical Archaeological Preservation
Board.
OBJECTIVE: To appoint a member to the Historical Archaeological Preservation board to fill
a vacant seat expiring on October 1,2017.
CONSIDERATIONS: This 7 member committee is vested with the power, authority, and
jurisdiction to designate, regulate, and administer historical and archaeological resources in
Collier County, under the direct jurisdiction and control of the Board of County Commissioners.
Membership is from the following categories: a. history; b. archaeology; c. Real Estate, land
development, or finance; d. architecture; e. law or urban planning; and f. 2 citizens at large.
Terms are 3 years. A list of the current membership is included in the backup.
There is a vacant seat on this committee. The vacancy was advertised and applications were
received from the following interested citizens:

RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee

Please be advised that during the February 18, 2015 HAPB meeting, the Preservation Board voted to
forward a recommendation to the BCC to appoint Eileen Arsenault to fill the Archaeology category
vacancy. She is replacing Matt Betz whose term expired on October 1, 2014.
