EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
RECOMMENDATION FOR BOARD APPROVAL FOR COMMISSIONERS
AND COUNTY STAFF TO ATTEND AN EVENT SERVING A VALID
PUBLIC PURPOSE
OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners to declare a valid public
purpose for Commissioner(s) and staff to attend a function/event and approve
payment by the Clerk of Courts of any associated expenses.
CONSIDERATION: Pursuant to Resolution No. 99-410,the Board of County
Commissioners has determined that attendance at the functions of fraternal, business,
environmental, educational, charitable, social, professional, trade, homeowners,
ethnic, and civic associations/organizations serves as a valid public purpose, provided
that said functions reasonably relate to Collier County matters.
FUNCTION/EVENT: The event is the Florida Association of Counties (FAC)
annual Legislative Day scheduled for March 26, 2015 in Tallahassee.
In addition to receiving a briefing from FAC legislative staff on the status of
legislation midway through the 2015 Legislative Session, Commissioners will meet
with members of the Collier County Legislative Delegation as well as other state
officials.
DATE OF FUNCTION/EVENT: March 25 —27, 2015
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: There are no legal issues associated with this
executive summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners declares
attendance by Commissioners, staff and the County Attorney to be a valid public
purpose, and approves payment by the Clerk of expenses incurred.
