WHEREAS, Republican Women's Week is sponsored by the Republican Clubs in Collier County
including the Collier County Republican Executive Committee, Women's Republican
Club of Naples Federated, Republican Women of Southwest Florida Federated,
Collier Republican Club, Collier Republican Men's Club, Republican Jewish Coalition
of Southwest Florida, Caxambas Republican Club of Southwest Florida, Collier
County Young Republicans, and Collier County Teen Republicans; and
WHEREAS, women from all these clubs have joined together for this event in the same way
that they joined in support of local, state, and national candidates in every
election cycle. These women work to educate voters on important issues as well
as on the candidates and work actively in their own neighborhoods in the effort of
getting citizens out to vote. In addition, the various clubs and their members
help with numerous local charities within the community. Collectively, these
women help to provide the support that gives Collier County its strong sense of
community; and
WHEREAS, the week includes a major event, 'Republican Women Make the Difference"held
on Saturday, January 31st, with an evening reception at Golisano Children's
Museum of Naples with Carly Fiorina, former CEO of HP and former U.S. Senate
Candiate (CA). In addition, on Wednesday, February 4th, the South Florida
Federated Republican Women will host a luncheon with KrisAnne Hall of Liberty
first; on Wednesday evening, February 4th, the Caxambas Republican Club will
host a presentation on Common Core with Erika Donalds and Jane Watt; on
Thursday evening, February 5th, the Women's Republican Club of Naples Federated
will host 'Cocktails and Conversation, by Invitation Only' with former Gov. Robert
Ehrlich (MD); and on Friday, February 6th, the Collier Republican Men's Club will
host breakfast with former Gov. Robert Ehrlich (MD).
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, that JANUARY 31 to FEBRUARY 6, 2015 be designated as
COLLIER COUNTY REPUBLICAN WOMEN'S WEEK
