P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, Joseph Aron Krueger Manuel has been involved in the Boy Scouts of
America organization for 8 of his 17 years; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Manuel worked diligently to attain the rank of Eagle Scout, which
is achieved by only four of every 100 boys who enter Scouting, and was
awarded his Eagle Scout rank May 30, 2017, and formally recognized
during his BSA Troop 25 Court of Honor August 30, 2017 at the VFW
Post 7721 in Collier County; and,
WHEREAS, to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, Mr. Manuel had to earn at least
21 merit badges, demonstrate Scout Spirit - an ideal attitude based
upon the Scout Oath and Law, service and leadership - and complete
an extensive service project; and,
WHEREAS, for his Eagle Service Project, Mr. Manuel developed the plan and
supervised the construction of 10 heavy duty wooden benches for
Pepper Ranch Preserve of Collier County, which will offer a place to
rest and relax for those enjoying recreational activities in the natural
environment; and,
WHEREAS, in addition to receiving the Eagle Scout honor, Mr. Manuel was elected
by his peers into the Scouting honor society, the Order of the Arrow,
which recognizes those Scouts who best exemplify the Scout Oath and
Law in their daily lives; and,
WHEREAS, this recognition provides encouragement for others to live these ideals
as well, as Arrowmen are known for maintaining camping traditions and
spirit, promoting year-round and long-term resident camping, and
providing cheerful service to others; and,
WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners values Mr. Manuel’s
contributions to our community.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florida, that Mr. Joseph Manuel is hereby recognized and
congratulated for all that he has done to make our community a better
place.
