EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to reappoint two member(s) to the Golden Gate Beautification Advisory
Committee.
OBJECTIVE: To reappoint two members to the Golden Gate Beautification Advisory Committee to
four-year terms expiring on October 6, 2021.
CONSIDERATIONS: This five member committee was created by Ordinance No. 87-78 to advise and
make recommendations to the BCC regarding the beautification and maintenance of landscape
improvements within the road right of way as described by ordinance boundaries. The committee shall
prepare an itemized budget of the amount of money required to carry out the business of the committee
for the next fiscal year. Members must be residents of one of the following precincts: 323, 324, 325, 326,
327, and part of 322. Terms are 4 years. A list of the current membership is included in the backup.
Two seats on the committee expired on October 6, 2017. The vacancies were advertised and applications
were received from the following:

ATTENDANCE: During the past two years, Ms. Spencer has had perfect attendance, and Ms. Holmes
has had only one excused absence. Attendance records are included in the backup to this item.
COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: On October 17, 2017, the committee approved a
recommendation that Ms. Spencer and Ms. Holmes each be reappointed to their respective seats on this
committee. A recommendation memo is included in the backup.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee
Recommendation, and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the reappointments.
