EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to reappoint a member to the Golden Gate Estates Land Trust Committee.
OBJECTIVE: To reappoint one member to the Golden Gate Estates Land Trust Committee, to a four -
year term expiring on October 13, 2021.
CONSIDERATIONS: This five member committee was created by Ord. No. 87-48, amended by Ord.
No. 87-98 and 94-40 to carry out the requirements, conditions and various provisions of an Agreement
relating to the use of land, or funds derived from the sale of land, conveyed to the County by Avatar
Properties, Inc. (f/d/a GAC Properties, Inc.) Applicants must reside within the subdivision known as
"Golden Gate Estates." Members must reside within one of the 5 phases within the Golden Gate Estates
area. Terms are 4 years. A list of the current membership is included in the backup.
A seat on this committee expired on October 12, 2017. The vacancy was advertised and applications were
received from the following:

ATTENDANCE: Mr. Curl has had perfect attendance over the past year.
COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: At its regular meeting on August 28, 2017, the committee
voted unanimously to recommend that Mr. Curl be reappointed to his seat for another term. A
recommendation memo is included in the backup. An additional application was received on September
18, 2017, from Mr. Jacob Winge. This application is included in the backup, should the Board wish to
consider him for appointment.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee
Recommendation, and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the reappointment.
