EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to accept and appropriate a private donation of $25,000 to benefit the
Headquarters Regional Library and approve the necessary budget amendment.
OBJECTIVE: To accept and appropriate a private donation to benefit the pat rons of the Headquarters
Regional Library.
CONSIDERATIONS: On August 13, 2017, a charitable foundation, which prefers to remain
anonymous, contributed $25,000 to the Headquarters Regional Library with the request that the money is
used for resources, furniture, supplies, materials, and any other general improvements to the public areas
at the Headquarters Regional Library.
FISCAL IMPACT: A Budget Amendment is needed to appropriate the $25,000 donation within the
Library’s 129 Fund (Fund Center 156112, WBS# 46044). There is no requirement for a County match.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, is approved as to
form and legality, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management Impact.
RECOMMENDATION: To authorize a Budget Amendment to recognize and appropriate the private
donation of $25,000 to benefit the Headquarters Regional Library.
