PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Collier County was severely impacted by Hurricane Irma on September
10, 2017; and,
WHEREAS, Jim Ludwig, Founder and Executive Director of Picklebal! For All, and
his wife Carol contacted the County to see how Pickleball For All could
volunteer after Hurricane Irma. Picklebal) For All is a non-profit
organization that introduces the sport of Pickleball to kids and adults.
At the same time, the County was contacted by the Tzu Chi
Foundation, an international humanitarian organization, to provide
monetary relief to those affected by Hurricane Irma; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Ludwig was asked to help in the process of a debit card
distribution by the Tzu Chi Foundation. Mr. Ludwig along with his
volunteers worked with Community leaders of the Everglades City,
Immokalee, City of Naples communities to identify those in need of
assistance; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Ludwig went above and beyond what was asked of him, had a can-
do attitude and was a pinnacle of volunteerism and community spirit;
and,
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed that the Collier County Board of County
Commissioners honor Jim & Carol Ludwig and the Picklebal! For All
volunteers for their extraordinary efforts in helping our community to
heal and recover after Hurricane Irma.
