Agenda 10/24/2017 Item #16K 610/24/2017 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to reappoint a member to the Vanderbilt Beach Beautification MSTU Advisory Committee. OBJECTIVE: To reappoint a member to the Vanderbilt Beach Beautification MSTU Advisory Committee to a four-year term expiring on November 13, 2021. CONSIDERATIONS: This five-member committee was established on July 31, 2001 by Ordinance No. 2001-43. The committee assists the BCC in carrying out the purposes of the MSTU, prepares and recommends to the BCC an itemized budget for the MSTU, and recommends work programs and priorities to the County Manager. Members must be permanent residents within the MSTU boundaries. Terms are 4 years. A list of the current membership is included in the backup. COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: At its regular meeting on October 5, 2017, the committee voted unanimously to recommend that Mr. Weber be reappointed to another four-year term which shall expire on November 13, 2021. A recommendation memo is included in the backup. FISCAL IMPACT: None. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None. RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee Recommendation, and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the reappointment. The Applicant was evaluated based on the potential contributions to the Committee and meets the criteria required to be eligible for the committee as well reside within the MSTU’s district boundary. Mr. Mark Weber has served his term on the Vanderbilt Beach MSTU committee for the past 4 years and in the past 2 years has had two excused absences.
