EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to appoint a member to the Growth Management Oversight Committee.
OBJECTIVE: To appoint one member to the Growth Management Oversight Committee, to fill a
vacant seat which shall expire upon the dissolution of this ad hoc committee.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Growth Management Oversight Committee was established on June 9, 2015
by Resolution No. 2015-111, to assist the Board of County Commissioners in facilitating the public
review of the four sub-area/master plans within the Growth Management Plan, east of County Road 951.
It was established as a seven member committee, with three members at large and four sub-area members
(one member from each of the four sub-areas). The sub-area members must be either residents of, own
property in, or have a business interest within one of the following four geographic areas of study: the
Rural Fringe Mixed Use District, the Golden Gate Estates and Golden Gate City area (combined), the
Rural Land Stewardship Area, and the Immokalee Urban Area. The at-large members may reside
anywhere in Collier County. Following the duration of the studies and Comprehensive Plan Amendments
associated with the four study areas, the Committee shall be dissolved without further action of the Board.

There is currently a vacant seat on this committee to represent the Rural Fringe Mixed Use District
(RFMUD). The vacancy was advertised and the following applications were received:

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: At its meeting on October 5, 2017, the committee
unanimously recommended that Jacob Winge be appointed to fill the current vacancy, which shall expire
upon the dissolution of this ad hoc committee. A recommendation email is included in the backup.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee
Recommendation, and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the appointment.
