EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation that the Board of County Commissioners (BCC), as the Community Redevelopment
Agency (CRA), authorize a budget amendment reflecting a budget in the amount of $128,000 to fund
Immokalee Sidewalk Improvements.
OBJECTIVE: To receive CRA Board approval of a budget amendment to fully fund the Immokalee
Sidewalk Improvement Project.
CONSIDERATIONS: On July 11, 2017 (agenda item 16.B.2), the BCC approved the award of Contract
No. 17-7148 - Immokalee Sidewalk Improvements, to Marquee Development, Inc. in the amount of
$685,494.75.
At the same time, a budget amendment in the amount of $210,494.75 was authorized from Immokalee CRA
Fund (186) reserves. This budget amendment was to provide sufficient budget to award the contract while
waiting for an additional $125,000 CDBG funding commitment to become available in FY 18.
Unfortunately, due to Hurricane Irma occurring at the end of the fiscal year, the contract was not finalized in
time to encumber the budget resulting in the funds being returned to CRA Reserves at the end of FY 17.
On September 26, 2017 (agenda item 16.B.2), as planned, the BCC approved an amendment to the CDBG
Immokalee Sidewalk Improvement Program grant agreement to provide an additional $125,000. Overall
grant funding for the project is now $600,000. The total project estimate is $728,000 leaving $128,000 to be
funded by Immokalee CRA sources.

FISCAL IMPACT: CDBG grant funding to support this Immokalee Sidewalk Improvement Program,
$600,000, has been awarded and is available in Immokalee CRA Grant Fund (715), Project 33493 (CDBG
Immokalee Sidewalks/STSC).
Local funds in the amount of $128,000 are available in Immokalee CRA Fund (186) reserves. These funds
will be added to the project by budget amendment and will provide sufficient budget for construction and
engineering/CEI services.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved for form and legality and requires a majority vote
for Board approval. - JAB
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: The project is in accordance with the goals and objectives of the
Sidewalk and Drainage Sub-element of the Growth Management Plan for Collier County Stormwater
Management and Transportation.
RECOMMENDATION: That the BCC, as the CRA, authorize a budget amendment in the amount of
$128,000 to fully fund the Immokalee Sidewalk Improvements Project.
