PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, The accounts payable function in any business is an essential and serious
responsibility and carried out by dedicated individuals who manage a variety
of tasks that can include auditing invoices and expense reports; issuing checks
and electronic payments; making debt service payments; and checking for
compliance with quotes, contracts, statutes, policies and procedures; and,
WHEREAS, The members of the Clerk's accounts payable staff, working with county
department staff, process over 100,000 invoices annually for the Board of
County Commissioners, Clerk of the Circuit Court and Supervisor of Elections
Agencies, all of which positively impact Collier County's credit rating and
business relationships; and,
WHEREAS, The dedicated individuals throughout Collier County, who work diligently in an
accounts payable environment provide a valuable and essential service to
Collier County government are recognized for the level of professionalism they
bring; and,
WHEREAS, The Accounts Payable Professionals Week is recognized as October 9 - 13,
2017 by the Institute of Financial Operations; and,
WHEREAS, The Collier County Clerk of the Circuit Court joins the Board in recognition of
Accounts Payable Week.
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florida, that October 9-13, 2017 be designated as
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE RECOGNITION WEEK
IN COLLIER COUNTY
