EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize Andres Santamaria, Maintenance Specialist, Growth Management
Department as the August 2017 Employee of the Month.
OBJECTIVE: To recognize the efforts and accomplishments of an employee who has made significa nt
contributions to the organization or to our community.
CONSIDERATIONS: Andres Santamaria has been with Collier County Traffic Operations for 11 years.
Andres Santamaria has helped develop perimeters to clearly define locate limits for a work area tha t was
oddly shaped and covered over 45 miles. He was available after hours to meet the foremen and
superintendents so he could explain his role in this project. He constantly checked up on the progress of
the project as it moved forward.
Often times, the locates are difficult to find and Andres makes every effort to find them. He is one of the
team’s best locators in an emergency and has become an integral part of the rapid response personnel. He
always makes time, even while completing his regular locates, to meet with excavators who need
clarification on utility locates or have questions about their projects that require on site meetings. These
are just some of the reasons he is so deserving of the Employee of the Month award.
FISCAL IMPACT: The selected “Employee of the Month” receives a $150.00 cash award. Funds for
this are available in the employee’s budget cost center.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There are no Growth Management Impacts associated with
this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: To approve the recognition of Andres Santamaria as the August 2017
Employee of the Month.
