EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve the use of $1,000 from the Confiscated Trust Funds to support the
Women’s Foundation of Southwest Florida, Inc.
OBJECTIVE: To request that the Board approve the use of $1,000 to support the Women’s Foundation
of Southwest Florida, Inc.
CONSIDERATION: The Women’s Foundation of Southwest Florida, Inc. by virtue of Section
932.7055 (5)(c) 1 Florida Statutes is seeking Board authorization for the appropriation of funds to support
their human trafficking initiatives. The Women’s Foundation of Southwest Florida, Inc. has applied to
the Sheriff for appropriation. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) requests Board approval to
appropriate $1,000 to support the Women’s Foundation of Southwest Florida, Inc.
The Women’s Foundation of Southwest Florida, Inc. primary objectives since 2013 have been to work
with the SWFL Human Trafficking Task Force, jointly convened by the U.S. Attorney and State
Attorney’s Offices to:
- Heighten awareness to human trafficking
- Develop a human trafficking data program as a useful tool for the members of the Task Force, such
as Collier County Sheriff’s Office.
The CCSO requests $1,000 from the Confiscated Trust Funds to be used to support the Women’s
Foundation of Southwest Florida, Inc. This support will benefit the Women’s Foundation of Southwest
Florida, mission.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is needed in the amount of $1,000 from the Confiscated Trust
Fund (602) reserves to support the Women’s Foundation of Southwest Florida, Inc. The source of
funding are proceeds from confiscated property.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT: None.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS:
RECOMMENDATIONS: That the Board of County Commissioners authorize the budget amendment
to appropriating $1,000 Confiscated Trust Funds to support the Women’s Foundation of Southwest
Florida, Inc.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to authorize execution of the budget amendment to increase current funding for
the Collier County Sheriff’s Fund 608 (Sheriff’s Education Trust Fund) in the amount of $80,000.
OBJECTIVE: To increase current budget in the amount of $80,000 for Fund 608 (Sheriff’s Education
Trust Fund).
CONSIDERATION: Collier County Sheriff’s Office needs an increase on the current budget for Fund
608 in order to cover education and travel expenses.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment in the amount of $80,000 is needed from the Fund 608
reserves.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT: None.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS:
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners (1) authorize execution of the
budget amendment from reserves for the Fund 608.
