EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to reappoint a member to the Health Facilities Authority.
OBJECTIVE: To reappoint one member to the Health Facilities Authority, to a four-year term expiring
on July 28, 2021.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Health Facilities Authority is five member authority created on November
20, 1979, by Ordinance No. 79-95 in accordance with Chapter 154 of the Florida Statutes. The purpose
of the authority is to assist health facilities in the acquisition, construction, financing and refina ncing of
projects in any incorporated or unincorporated area within the geographical limits of Collier County.
Terms are 4 years. A list of the current membership is included in the backup.
One seat on this authority expires on July 28, 2017. The pending vacancy was advertised and an
application was received from the following:

RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Staff Recommendation,
and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the reappointment.

Re: Appointment to Health Facilities Authority
Dear Ms. Rodriguez:
The term of one of the members of the Health Facilities Authority, Timothy Reidy, has or soon
will expire, and you have advertised this vacancy. Mr. Reidy has applied for re -appointment,
and no other applications were received in response to the advertisement.
The Authority highly recommends the re -appointment of Mr. Reidy. The law governing the
Authority does not require that applicants possess knowledge or experience in particular areas,
however, when evaluating applications we look for relevant experience to the work of the
Authority and interest in economic development. Mr. Reidy serves as our chairman, and he has
extensive experience in the financing, management and construction of the type of health care
facilities that the Authority finances. This background provides valuable assistance in evaluating
proposals for financing.
Mr. Reidy has a perfect attendance record at Authority meetings.
