EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize Lemeck Cherenfant, Traffic Signal Technician, Growth
Management Department as the June 2017 Employee of the Month.
OBJECTIVE: To recognize the efforts and accomplishments of an employee who has made significant
contributions to the organization or to our community.
CONSIDERATIONS: Lemeck Cherenfant, Traffic Signal Technician, Traffic Operations has been with
the County for more than 5 years and works for the Growth Management Department.
The County recently deployed a real-time Adaptive Traffic Control System (ATCS) along the Airport-
Pulling Road corridor. The benefits to the public will be reduction in crashes, travel time, fuel
consumption and emissions. As a new system and technology, this system is unfamiliar territory for our
Signal Technicians. "Mack" volunteered to become the lead technician and invested many hours of work
and personal time to learn the installation and inner workings of this new proprietary system. His
incredible initiative has earned him the respect of his supervisor and teammates. Not only did Mack learn
the new system, he trained his team members on it's successful implementation and operation. The ATCS
installation brought many challenges; however, Mack's diligence and time spent working with the
engineers on the project ensured a smooth and professional installation. Aside from the public safety
benefits, Mack’s drive and initiative made this installation a success by saving a great deal of taxpayer
dollars by not having to use an outside contractor for installation, and is why he is very deserving of this
recognition.
FISCAL IMPACT: The selected “Employee of the Month” receives a $150.00 cash award. Funds for
this are available in the employee’s budget cost center.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There are no Growth Management Impacts associated with
this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: To approve the recognition of Lemeck Cherenfant as the June 2017 Employee
of the Month.
