Agenda 06/27/2017 Item #16A1106/27/2017 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to recognize FY 2017/18 Transportation Disadvantaged Planning Grant funding in the amount of $26,915 to the Collier Metropolitan Planning Organization from the Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged and to authorize the necessary budget amendment. OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners (Board) to recognize funding awarded to the Collier County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) by the Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged (CTD) and to authorize the necessary budget amendment. CONSIDERATIONS: Annually, the MPO enters into an Agreement with the CTD to perform planning duties set forth in Chapter 427, Florida Statutes, Rule 41-2, Florida Administrative Code, Commission policies and the Program Manual for Transportation Disadvantaged Planning Related Services (Agreement), as revised on April 27, 2012. The MPO Board approved the award in the amount of $26,005 at its May 12, 2017 meeting. After the MPO Board meeting, the CTD notified the MPO staff that there was a 3.5% increase to the draft planning grant allocation in the amount of $910. The MPO Board is expected to approve the increase of funding at its June 9, 2017 meeting. The MPO Board authorized its Chairman to execute the funding agreement upon receipt. CTD Grant funding begins July 1, 2017, and does not coincide with the County’s annual budget cycle. FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is required to recognize grant revenue in the amount of $26,915 in Growth Management Department (GMD) Grant Fund 711, Project 33523. There is no requirement for matching funds. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality, and requires majority vote for Board approval. -SRT GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: This request is consistent with Collier County’s Growth Management Plan. RECOMMENDATION: To authorize the necessary budget amendment for FY 2017/18 grant revenue totaling $26,915, which will be awarded by the Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged to the Collier Metropolitan Planning Organization.
