EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation that the Board approves and authorizes the Chairman to sign a Donation
Agreement (Agreement) between Collier County and Pine Ridge Civic Association, Inc. for Collier
County to assume ownership and maintenance of the landscape improvements within Trail
Boulevard public right-of-way.
OBJECTIVE: That the Board approves and authorizes the Chairman to sign a Donation Agreement for
landscape improvements within Trail Boulevard, a public right-of-way, for the purpose of the County
assuming ownership and maintenance of the landscape improvements.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Pine Ridge Civic Association installed landscape improvements within the
Trail Boulevard public right -of-way through a Right-of-Way permit dated December 15, 1994. In
accordance with the terms of the permit, the Association was responsible for placing and maintaining the
subject landscaping improvements. The landscape improvements along Trail Boulevard consist of live
oak trees, sabal palms, and shrubs. The oak trees provide a mature canopy and buffer along US 41, adding
community character and traffic calming along both Trail Boulevard and US 41. The Association now
wishes to donate the landscape improvements, as described in Exhibit “A” of the agreement, to the
County for the purpose of the County assuming ownership and maintenance of the landscape
improvements.
FISCAL IMPACT: Annual maintenance costs of approximately $15,000 associated with these
improvements have not been specifically budgeted; funding for ongoing contractual services will be
absorbed into the Landscape Maintenance operating budget. The source of funds is Unincorporated
General Fund revenue.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management Impact associated with this
Executive Summary.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been approved as to form and legality, and requires a
majority vote for Board approval-SAS
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board approves and authorizes the Chairman to sign a Donation
Agreement between Collier County and Pine Ridge Civic Association for Collier County to assume
ownership and maintenance of landscape improvements within Trail Boulevard public right-of-way.
