EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a Local Agency Program
Supplemental Agreement (FPN 433177-1-58/68-01) with the Florida Department of Transportation
for Construction and Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) for intersection improvements on
Golden Gate Parkway at Livingston Road to increase the construction funding by $7,551 and
decrease the CEI funding by $7,551 (Project No. 33431).
OBJECTIVE: To utilize the full funding amount available within Local Agency Program (LAP) 433177
for the construction and CEI for intersection improvements on Golden Gate Parkway at Livingston Road.
CONSIDERATIONS: On February 18, 2016, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the
County entered into a LAP agreement wherein FDOT would reimburse Collier County up to the total sum
of $331,363 for the construction and CEI of intersection improvements on Golden Gate Parkway at
Livingston Road--$272,184 for construction and $59,179 for CEI. The attached supplemental agreement
is necessary due to a change in the allocation of funding for the project. The CEI cost was negotiated
lower than the LAP approved amount. Therefore, this supplemental agreement will transfer the amount of
$7,551 from the CEI funds to the construction funds, and the total amount of funding will remain
$331,363. This change will allow the County to be reimbursed for the full LAP agreement amount.
FISCAL IMPACT: There will be no additional fiscal impact associated with the Executive Summary;
this is an overall cost savings measure which will reduce the amount of local funds that would have been
needed for Project No. 33431.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been approved as to form and legality, and requires a
majority vote for Board approval - SAS
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management Impact associated with this
Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approve and authorize its Chairman
to execute the attached Local Agency Program Supplemental Agreement with the Florida Department of
Transportation for Construction and Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) for intersection
improvements on Golden Gate Parkway at Livingston Road to increase the construction funding by
$7,551 and decrease the CEI funding by $7,551.
