EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize Alberto Sanchez, Senior Investigator, Public Utilities Department as
the May 2017 Employee of the Month.
OBJECTIVE: To recognize the efforts and accomplishments of an employee who has made significant
contributions to the organization or to our community.
CONSIDERATIONS: Alberto Sanchez, Senior Investigator, Utilities Ordinance Education and
Compliance has been with the County for more than 17 years and works for the Public Utilities
Department.
Al represents the Utilities Ordinance Education & Compliance Section and all of Collier County, by
acting as a liaison between the county, the public, and contractors doing work within the county. He
recently engaged residents and contractors by speaking at a roundtable workshop hosted by the Locates
Department. Al demonstrated himself a superior public speaker and subject matter expert pertaining to
Sunshine 811, a program related to the Underground Facility Damage Prevention and Safety Act, Chapter
556, of the Florida Statutes. As a result of this, Al was recognized by a member of the Sunshine 811
program for his performance at the workshop and has been invited to speak as a subject matter expert at
the Florida Association of Code Enforcement Conference in Tampa in June. Al consistently embodies the
values of Collier County, and his leadership is evident as he works with his team, those throughout the
agency and the community; and he is most deserving of the Employee of the Month Award.
FISCAL IMPACT: The selected “Employee of the Month” receives a $150.00 cash award. Funds for
this are available in the employee’s budget cost center.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There are no Growth Management Impacts associated with
this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: To approve the recognition of Alberto Sanchez as the May 2017 Employee of
the Month.
