EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve a time extension to a Local Agency Program Agreement requested by
the Florida Department of Transportation for closeout of the recently completed construction of
sidewalk improvements in East Naples along Lombardy Lane and Orchard Lane, FPN #430879-1-
58-01, Project No. 33460.
OBJECTIVE: To acknowledge an extension of time to a Local Agency Program (LAP) Agreement
grant for sidewalk improvements in East Naples along Lombardy Lane and Orchard Lane with the Florida
Department of Transportation (FDOT).
CONSIDERATIONS: On April 26, 2016, FDOT and Collier County entered into LAP Agreement
430879-1-58-01, wherein FDOT would reimburse Collier County up to $261,066 for the construction of
sidewalk improvements in East Naples along Lombardy Lane and Orchard Lane. Infinite Construction,
LLC was awarded the bid, began construction on January 17, 2017 and completed construction on May
17, 2017, as scheduled. The original LAP agreement was set to expire on June 30, 2017. In order to
complete LAP administrative closeout procedures after construction is complete, FDOT approved a 90
day extension to the LAP agreement to September 28, 2017. Time Extension Request #1 is attached for
the acknowledgement of the Board.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. Extending the period of award
will allow for proper close-out of this project.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality, and requires majority
vote for Board approval. -SRT
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this
action.
RECOMMENDATION: To approve a time extension to September 28, 2017 for a LAP Agreement
(FM Number: 430879-1-58-01) with FDOT in which Collier County will be reimbursed up to $261,066
for sidewalk improvements in East Naples along Lombardy Lane and Orchard Lane.
